This Yorkshire restaurant has a range of different menus, fine wines and bears.

The Black Swan at Oldstead

This restaurant is nestled in the countryside, on the edge of North York Moors, between Thirsk and Helmsley. Tommy Banks, the owner of The Black Swan, produces a lot of its products used on the menu on site. As the Banks family have farmed for a number of years and generations at Oldstead. You are able to enjoy a number of specially made cocktails at this Yorkshire Michelin star restaurant, which are made using the Black Swan’s own preserved fruits and herbs.

Not only is this a 15th-century country inn, but it also has stunning views of the Yorkshire dales national park, so you can enjoy its views and food. This gastropub has held its Michelin star since 2019, where you can choose from la carte and tasting menus. With many different takes on pub classics, that is offered with a warm welcome. Not only does this offer fine dining and pub classics, but there are also 9 luxury bedrooms, if you’re looking for Yorkshire Michelin star restaurants that you can get away to then this is the one for you.

This is one of the newest additions to the list of Yorkshire Michelin star restaurants. Located within the luxurious Grantley hall hotel, in the countryside near Ripon. This grand mansion dates back to the 17th century, is surrounded by its green palladium grounds, and is perfect for anyone looking for a fine dining experience. Shaun Rankin who is now the leading chef has been awarded a number of Michelin stars during his career. You’ll have the chance to taste a 10-course ‘taste of home’ menu, with locally sourced meats, seafood and cheeses. Not to mention the herbs that are grown in Grantley Hall’s kitchen itself.

Roots

This is Tommy Banks’s second Michelin star restaurant, which can be found located right in the heart of York, in a 19th-century building. This uses the produce which is grown on the farmland and gardens at The Black Swan at Oldstead. This restaurant serves up an eleven-course tasting menu, with the option to add a drinks package. Although this restaurant is perfect for offering farm-to-gork dining, it is also located right next to the museum’s gardens, which helps it to do so. Their tasting menu rotates and changes based on the three seasons, which helps to implement the use of root vegetables and their best ingredients all year round.
