There are so many different Christmas Yorkshire 2022 events going on this year. There’s no better time to take a trip over to Yorkshire, than at Christmas time. With it being one of England’s largest counties, this means there’s plenty to do. Here’s what you could get up to this Christmas in Yorkshire.
Mother Skipton’s Christmas Village

Mother Skipton’s Christmas Yorkshire village is the perfect day out for the whole family. This little Christmas village is very festive and magical, and you won’t be short of great magical photo opportunities, so you can capture all these wonderful moments with the family. They’ll be a chief elf on site called Chestnut, whose job is to lead the way to Santas grotto. There is the option to purchase a little gift for anyone wanting something extra. This is the perfect little day out.
The Winter Illumination Trail
The website says they’re returning this Christmas, but who knows when…
There’s no better way to make use of the long dark nights than to visit this winter illumination trail. With the added bonus of the animals and mystical creatures, as this is held at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. If you pick the right night when it’s dry, wrap up and grab a warm drink you’ll be ready to get going on this 2,400-metre of the illuminated trail. There are so many surprises along the way, that you’ll get to witness first-hand, with one of Yorkshire’s favourite wildlife parks.
Christmas Adventure and Visit Santa at Stockeld Park
At Stockeld Park there is a silver band playing every weekend in December, not to forget their illuminated enchanted forest. Another added bonus there is that you can choose your very own Christmas tree, to take home and decorate, the perfect little Christmas activity. Once you’ve listened to the Christmas tunes played by the band, you can then head off to explore the forest, for a fun-packed afternoon of outdoor activities. Not to mention Santa’s grotto, which costs £13 to visit, this is perfect for children. You can take two free adults along to the grotto, but he won’t be handing out gifts to everyone!
Chocolate and Santa at York’s Chocolate Story
If you love Santa but you love chocolate, then this is the perfect Christmas Yorkshire 2022 event for you. Why not have the best of both worlds? You can learn about the history of York’s chocolate story, where you can discover all sorts of different facts and stories. Now that it’s Christmas time, their tours are Christmas-themed, so now you get to visit Santa in his favourite new place. York is one of the best days out in Yorkshire, as you can enjoy your chocolate-themed tour and the city itself.
Watch The Snowman with a Live Orchestra in York Minster
It’s not really Christmas until you you’ve heard the song ‘Walking In The Air’. If you head to York Minster this Christmas you have the chance to enjoy a classic Christmas film, which is also accompanied by a live orchestra, which will play all the famous soundtracks. There are three times to view this event which are all held on the 10th of December, so make sure you book in advance. You also get the added bonus of being able to watch the Bear and the Piano, tickets for this Christmas Yorkshire event start from £17.60.
